Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

The aim of the qualification is to provide learners with the underpinning knowledge and skills to manage a casualty with anaphylaxis until further assistance from the emergency services can be obtained.   

This qualification consists of  1 unit:

Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis 

This qualification is aimed at anyone who requires a first aid qualification which covers additional training for the management of anaphylaxis. 

The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis qualification has been designed to provide the knowledge and skills to manage casualties with anaphylaxis. 

Anaphylaxis is a potentially life threatening condition and prompt action in its recognition and management is essential to preserve life. 

This course provides the underpinning knowledge and appropriate skills to manage casualties and ultimately if required to perform effective basic life support until emergency assistance can arrive.  

The qualification is valid for 3 years and is supported by Skills for Health.
